John Cabot University

John Cabot University, founded in 1972, is an American accredited liberal arts institution located in the heart of Rome. What distinguishes JCU is its vibrant international community. With 1,900+ students from over 75 countries, the university fosters an inclusive atmosphere where small class sizes enable personalized attention from faculty who serve as mentors. This welcoming environment provides an enriched academic experience with extensive learning opportunities.

JCU offers academic credits for IB certificates and diplomas. Higher Level examinations are awarded 6 semester hours of credit, while Standard Level examinations earn 3 semester hours of credit.

The university provides a diverse range of Bachelor’s degrees, including Art History, Business Administration, Classical Studies, Communications, Economics and Finance, English Literature, History, Humanistic Studies, International Affairs, International Business, Italian Studies, Marketing, Political Science, and Psychological Science. 

Minors are offered in all the major fields above except for International Business. Additionally, students can also choose to minor in Art and Design, Creative Writing, Digital Media Arts and Production, Entrepreneurship, Gender Studies, Legal Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, and Sociology. 

Student Life at JCU is also an integral and exciting part of a student’s experience, featuring 20 clubs and organizations: Arab Student Association, Art History Society, Asian Culture Club, Black and African Student Association, Board Game Club, Business Society, Film Appreciation Club, Grassroots Environmental Club, Interfaith Alliance, International Relations Society, Model United Nations, Newspaper Club, Organization of Latin American Cultures, Queer Alliance, Slavic Cultural Club, STAND, Student Government, Studio Art and Design Club, Universities Fighting World Hunger, and Women’s Leadership Initiative. 

JCU is committed to supporting its students financially through generous merit-based and need-based awards, with 85% of students receiving scholarships or grants. The university has allocated over $4 million annually in scholarships and grants. 

Graduates from John Cabot University continue their studies at prestigious institutions such as Columbia, NYU, Harvard, and the London School of Economics. 

Applications to John Cabot University are accepted twice a year, in September and in January.
