Aiglon College is a leading, not-for-profit international and co-educational boarding school in Switzerland. For over 75 years, the school has offered students a holistic and inspirational experience that pushes the boundaries of traditional education. John Corlette founded the school in 1949 on a distinctive ethos: the balanced development of mind, body, and spirit.
Aiglon is home to over 460 students, from 7-18 years, representing more than 60 different nationalities.
From junior through to senior school, students benefit from all the advantages of an international boarding environment. They form lasting bonds with each other and with excellent educators who guide them towards academic and personal success.
The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:5, and the average class size is 12, ensuring individual attention to each student. The school has four cohorts: Wonder Years (ages 7-10), Discovery Years (ages 11-13), Exploration Years (ages 14-15) and Inspiration Years (ages 16-18), each overseen by an Assistant Head. The journey through the school prioritises holistic education and celebrates creativity.
The character of Aiglon students is forged on the mountain. Aiglon is located in French-speaking Switzerland, at 1,227m. Making use of a safe, alpine environment the students enjoy an open-style campus. Central to its educational philosophy, the uniquely crafted expedition programme utilises Aiglon's location to engage students in activities designed to develop their sense of challenge and responsibility in a highly practical environment.
Students follow the globally recognised IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes while simultaneously developing practical skills that integrate curriculum into all areas of life. The focused, individually tailored programme allows each of them to access a unique course of study.
The school's professional university advising team works closely with each student to help them understand and succeed in the university application process. Through these efforts, our students have access to the world's top universities.
Aiglon's activities programme - from Model United Nations (MUN) to robotics and creative arts - offers a range of learning opportunities for students to develop skills and build experiences.
A robust approach to wellbeing is integrated into our student life, as well as our curriculum. The school's counsellor team supports students' mental health and we understand safeguarding within a community-focused culture. From their roles as Houseparents, Assistant Houseparents or as tutors, teachers are available to students 24/7.
Every Aiglonian leaves the school prepared to face the challenges and opportunities of the modern world.
