Cranbrook School is a vibrant and inclusive community located in the heart of Sydney. As an IB Continuum School, we offer the Primary Years, Middle Years and IB Diploma programmes. We are excited about our upcoming move to coeducation, welcoming girls to our Senior School in 2026. Our facilities provide the latest in teaching and learning, as well as outstanding performance spaces and sporting venues.

Our motto, 'Esse Quam Videri' - To be rather than to seem to be - anchors and inspires us. We develop the character of the young people in our care, so they can learn to respond to the inevitable challenges of life with optimism and an open mind. Global awareness is a key part of our curriculum.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

We are committed to academic excellence, offering a broad, liberal education. We embrace curiosity and discovery, always experimenting and innovating. We recognise the essential value of great teaching, inspiring our students to achieve beyond their expectations.

THE ARTS: A WORLD CLASS PROGRAMME

We place great importance on cultural and artistic expression. Amongst our alumni we have more than our fair share of gifted painters, architects and sculptors, art curators and gallery owners, digital artists, filmmakers and illustrators.

SPORT: INCLUSIVENESS AND CHALLENGE

Our sports programme is both deep and wide: major sports flourish alongside important minority pursuits. We enjoy truly world class sporting facilities with a state-of-the-art Aquatics and Fitness Centre. We balance the camaraderie of team success with the satisfaction of individual achievement.

CO-CURRICULAR: A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO EDUCATION

Our co-curricular activities are broad, distinctive, holistic and well-rounded. We offer an extensive range of activities, from the arts to the sciences, music to sport, allowing our students to explore their individual interests.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING: ESCAPING THE CONSTRAINTS OF CITY LIFE

Experiential learning is at the heart of what we do. We create authentic experiences to make learning interesting, personal and relevant. Our experiential bush campus at Wolgan Valley in the NSW Blue Mountains allows our students to benefit from an enhanced focus on education within the natural environment, free from the distraction of technology and city life.

BOARDING: A BRIDGE TO UNIVERSITY LIFE AND BEYOND

Ever since Cranbrook first opened its gates in 1918, our School has been a home away from home for our boarding students, who thrive in a nurturing community that offers a genuine warmth and an individualised approach.
