Our Heritage and Tradition

Dulwich College Beijing is an international school with British independent school ethos and values, which draws upon 400 years of excellence and tradition from Dulwich College, the founding College in London. Established in 2005, Dulwich College Beijing maintains strong ties with Dulwich College. We are proud to share a common heritage across the network of schools in Asia, and equally value the traditions, unique to our school, that we have created since we opened. Dulwich College Beijing was the winner of the Holistic Education and Science and Technology Awards at the British Schools Awards 2021. The College also received the 2022 International School Awards in the Pathways to Continued and University Education category.

Our diverse student body is represented by more than 1,580 students from age 3 to age 18, with over thirty different nationalities. We are extremely proud of our students who achieve excellent academic results while at the same time, engaging in sports, visual and performing arts, science and technology, community service, debating, leadership roles and anything else that they are passionate about. Our graduating classes have consistently achieved IB results and university placements that place the school among the world's best.

Our Curriculum

The primary teaching language is English, with a Dual Language approach in Mandarin and English in Early Years. Children up to age 5 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, and from Year 1 to Year 9, they follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which is enhanced to meet the needs of our international student body.

In Year 10 they begin the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), a rigorous two-year course that requires students to take a broad range of subjects. It culminates in exams at the end of Year 11 and prepares students well for the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) starting in Year 12.

Extra-Curricular Activities

With 150 extra-curricular activities per term, our students can explore and expand their interests beyond academics. Our extra-curricular activities help develop social, leadership, organisational, creative, technical, speaking and listening skills, among others.
