Founded in 1899, École des Roches is an international coeducational day and boarding school located on a spacious woodland campus in the heart of the beautiful Normandy countryside. We welcome students aged 11 to 18 years from 52 nationalities to our Middle and High school.
École des Roches offers several programmes: the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP); the French National Curriculum; the French as a Foreign Language Programme for short stays or a full academic year; and also summer and winter intensive language courses.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
École des Roches has been an IB World School since 2016, offering the IBDP in English. The school also offers a special 'Pre-Diploma Programme' - a one-year intensive foundation course - to prepare students for International Baccalaureate learning.
Students receive counselling on their career choices and we support them through the university admissions process, ensuring they are selecting courses where they can achieve their full potential.
At École des Roches, the IB Diploma Programme is characterised by:

In addition to preparing students for the IB Diploma, all of our students are encouraged to take advantage of the school's context, heritage and resources to improve their French language proficiency, whether that be at a beginner, intermediate or advanced level.
Boarding Life
Our Boarding School consists of seven boarding houses called 'Maisons', which are large historic Normandy residences. Boys and girls are divided by age range in these single-sex boarding houses.
Foreign students live and work alongside French-speaking students in pleasant and recently renovated rooms. École des Roches is a student-centred school, not only offering intellectual but also personal and emotional support, in order to promote each student's individual development.
The extracurricular activities we offer range from horseback riding and golf, through other sports like football and volleyball, to go-karting on the school's track which is located on campus.
Admissions
Students can apply to our school all year-round, with places allocated subject to availability. Students must submit a minimum of two years' of school reports, a letter of recommendation, as well as a letter of motivation.
