The Canadian School of Brasilia is a Brazilian bilingual school (Portuguese/English) that has two campuses in the Brazilian capital city, Brasília, Sudoeste campus and Águas Claras campus. Our mission is to encourage active learning, with a strong focus on individual and group needs and development. Our main curricular focus is in respect to the Brazilian curriculum aligned with the best educational practices. We foster a culture of collaborative learning, empathy and respect of individual differences, while aiming to develop global values and the full academic potential of each student that we are supporting and making them better global citizens.
We are aligned with strong Canadian educational teaching practices. Our dedicated educational staff embeds these practices in their teaching. These practices focus on hands-on experiences as well as the importance of group interaction which supports and develops the academic, social and emotional strengths of the student. The Canadian School of Brasilia is committed to offer a holistic educational approach.
We are an IB PYP programme authorized school, and in High School we work in partnership with Columbia International College for a dual degree program.
We are a bilingual school, Portuguese/English, and we believe that solid language skills are the basis for educational achievement. As part of our co-curricular offering and, according to the age of the student, we provide music, drama, arts, advanced Math, Spanish language, concert band, among others interactive clubs.
Established in 2005, the school has grown significantly over time. In 2022 we started our High School program at Sudoeste Campus.
Extracurricular activities
At both campuses, students have the opportunity to join in a wide range of extracurricular activities. These include soccer, ballet, jazz dance, judo, musical theater, music (violin, guitar, choir), cooking, chess, robotics, basketball, and French language. All of these opportunities continue to foster the development of the whole child which supports the respect, cooperation and positive interaction of students in a non academic environment.
As our school motto exemplifies: We Love, We Care, We Share
