Haileybury is a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school, situated on 500 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, just 20 miles north of London. Academic excellence
Haileybury is extremely proud of the excellent examination results achieved by its IBDP, A Level, and (I)GCSE pupils and was named 'best UK fully co-educational IB independent school 2024' by The Times.
The school offers a dedicated Lower School for Years 7 and 8 and a wide choice of GCSEs and IGCSEs. In the Sixth Form, pupils can select to study for A levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. In addition, we offer a Pre-Diploma course for Year 11 pupils wanting to prepare for the IBDP.
Boarding and day
Around two-thirds of pupils are boarders and boarding life is varied and fun. On joining Haileybury, pupils are allocated to one of the Houses and welcomed into their House community.

Beyond the academic curriculum, pupils benefit from a wide range of activities, including professional sports coaching for all and visits from speakers from the arts, sporting, and academic worlds.

The new SciTech buildings offer the latest technology to further challenge pupils and enhance their skills. Working from purpose-built labs, Haileybury pupils are contributing to efforts to find cures for diseases such as pancreatic cancer and diabetes.
