Our Mission

At International Metropolitan School (IMS) we offer a high-quality education, in a stimulating, supportive environment that helps the students to achieve excellence, to reach their full potential and to combine school experiences with real life. Through a holistic, student-centered, and inquiry-based approach, our students develop concepts, skills and life attitudes that enable them to become active, creative and responsible members of the local and international community.

Who we are

IMS was founded in 2021 by Ioannis Dimitrellos, Konstantina Valsamidou and Marika Valsamidou. Our founders come from a family with long history in the educational field. They also own International School of Piraeus (ISP) and Sporty's International School. Our team consists of passionate educators who aspire to offer a high-quality education to our students and seek continuous professional growth.

Our school

Our school is located in the south of Athens and is an innovative school which aims to educate and inspire young learners and help them prepare for a rapidly changing world. We base our learning journey on inquiry and hands-on learning experiences and everyday life situations. Our educational ethos consists of values such as respect, cooperation, and perseverance. We also value academic excellence and informed personal choices.

Our school offers bilingual education and follows the Greek National Curriculum. We also provide our students with opportunities to learn different languages and develop their talents throughout our many afterschool clubs in a stimulating environment.

Our school community

For us each of our students is unique and it is our responsibility to help each one of them to achieve their dreams. Our educators work closely with our students and their families and celebrate intercultural differences and commonalities. We cooperate with the local community for events and actions and we also have open horizons in order to connect with the world.

Admissions

Admissions are accepted throughout the school year. We support our international students with Greek as a second language to help improve their academic level as well as facilitate their inclusion in their host country.
