The International School of Islamabad (ISOI) is a private, coeducational, college-preparatory day school. ISOI offers an inquiry-based curriculum to students of approximately 50 nationalities. The school operates on the semester system and is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. ISOI is an IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) in grades 11/12. ISOI is also an IB PYP school. ISOI was founded in 1965. The campus is located on 23+ acres on the outskirts of Islamabad, Pakistan. The campus includes Elementary School, Middle School and High School quads, a gym, an auditorium, an open-air theater, an IB art gallery, a physical education center, tennis courts, a climbing wall, a running track, playing fields, a swimming pool, two libraries and two technology centers. Students are admitted on the basis of previous academic records, standardized test scores, a writing sample and verification of the need for an international, English curriculum.
The school year runs from August to early June and is divided into two semesters. The first semester runs from August to December and the second semester runs from January to June. The school follows a two week, rotating block schedule.
