Founded in 1994, the International School of Monaco (ISM) is an independent, co-educational, not-for-profit day school in Monaco. ISM is the only fully accredited international private school in the Principality of Monaco and today caters to 800 pupils aged from 3-18, drawn from over fifty nationalities.

In August 2020 the school signed a historic collaboration with King's College School, Wimbledon, as part of the school's aim to be among the best in Europe.

Driven by its vision of international education with distinction, ISM's mission is to provide an outstanding education for students so that they are happy, confident, independent, multilingual and responsible global citizens. The school's values emphasise integrity, learning, caring and respect, with strong emphasis placed on excellence, wellbeing and multilingualism as well as international mindedness and digital citizenship.

ISM offers a distinctive bilingual education in English and French for students in the Primary School (Kindergarten to Year 6), and from Year 7 onwards, the Secondary School offers a broad and balanced curriculum in English, leading to Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme or IB Career-related Programme qualifications. The school offers the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), as well as the Extended IBCP pathway, which allows high-performing student-athletes to complete the IBCP over a 3-year period instead of a 2-year period as part of ISM's accreditation as an Athlete Friendly Education Centre (AFEC) from the World Academy of Sport. The school is also an official candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).

Languages are an important part of the curriculum, with Spanish, Italian, Russian and German, in addition to French, on offer. Highly qualified teachers and support staff are recruited from around the world.

ISM provides an extensive programme of enrichment including sports, Model United Nations, an annual Arts Festival, the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award plus ABRSM and LAMDA music and drama qualifications. The school's unique location on the Côte d'Azur enables access to world-class museums and places of interest.

Outreach is an important element of school life, and students participate in a wide range of giving projects throughout the year via the school's philanthropy clubs, Student Senate initiatives, and the PTA, in partnership with local charities and environmental associations.

Pastoral care is a major priority for the school; an extensive PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) programme is delivered by teachers who receive regular training in child safeguarding, and a full-time Head of Wellbeing is supported by a wellbeing team including a school counsellor and psychologist.

ISM students are well-rounded, academically successful individuals who are admitted to top universities around the world, including in recent years University of Oxford and Harvard University. ISM graduates are already pursuing exciting careers in many diverse fields.
