Founded in 1994, the International School of Monaco (ISM) is an independent, co-educational, not-for-profit day school, serving a diverse community of over 830 students, aged 3 to 18, representing more than 60 nationalities.

Guided by its vision of international education with distinction, ISM's mission is to provide an outstanding learning environment where students are nurtured to become happy, confident, independent, multilingual, and responsible global citizens. The school's core values of integrity, learning, caring, and respect underpin a strong focus on excellence, wellbeing, multilingualism, international mindedness, and digital citizenship. In line with its commitment to being among the top schools in Europe, ISM entered a strategic partnership with King's College School, Wimbledon, in 2020.

ISM offers a bilingual education in English and French in its Primary Years (Kindergarten to Year 6), while its Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 13) provides a broad and balanced curriculum taught in English, culminating in internationally recognised qualifications. As an IB World Continuum School, ISM delivers all four International Baccalaureate programmes: the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), IB Diploma Programme (DP), and IB Career-related Programme (CP). Additionally, ISM offers an Extended IBDP or IBCP pathway for student-athletes, allowing them to complete the IBDP or IBCP over three years instead of two, as part of ISM's status as an Athlete Friendly Education Centre (AFEC) accredited by the World Academy of Sport.

Language learning is a key component of the curriculum, with Spanish, Italian, Russian, German, and French offered. Highly qualified and experienced teachers and support staff are recruited from around the world.

Beyond academics, ISM offers a rich array of enrichment activities, including sports, Model United Nations, a Performing Arts Festival, and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. Music and drama qualifications are available through ABRSM and LAMDA. The school's prime location on the Côte d'Azur provides unparalleled access to cultural and historical sites.

Service and outreach play an integral role in ISM's community, with students participating in numerous philanthropic initiatives through school clubs, the Student Senate, and the PTA, in collaboration with local charities and environmental organisations.

ISM is committed to pastoral care and student wellbeing, which is recognised by its achievement of the prestigious Optimus Wellbeing Award, securing over 60 wellbeing and mental health KPIs. A comprehensive PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) programme is delivered by teachers who receive regular training in child safeguarding, and the wellbeing team is led by a full-time Head of Wellbeing, supported by a school counsellor and psychologist.
