The International School of Turin (IST) is a private, non-profit organization open to students from all over the world. Founded in 1963 and refounded in 1974 as the American Cultural Association of Turin (ACAT), it was renamed the International School of Turin in 2007. IST has long been a key point of reference for the international community and local families alike, preparing students for the challenges of today's globalized world.

Our mission is to "inspire lifelong learning and international mindedness, empowering each student to reach their full potential while supporting their overall wellbeing."

IST is an IB World School, authorized to offer the full IB continuum of programs in English, from Early Years to Grade 12, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). Since 1984, IST has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

The school's international curriculum leads to both the IST American High School Diploma and the IB Diploma, the latter recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education as equivalent to the Italian Maturità. IST is the only international school in Piedmont to be granted Parità Scolastica (equivalency) by the Italian Ministry of Education for its Early Years and Primary Sections.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, IST is certified as a "Green School" by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Through projects like the school garden and various sustainability-related initiatives, students from all grades engage with and learn about global environmental issues.

IST takes pride in being a non-selective school, with a well-structured student support team ensuring equal access to its curriculum. English Language Learning (ELL) programs help students improve their English proficiency, while the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team works closely with students requiring additional assistance to help them reach their full potential.

The school counselor manages a comprehensive advisory and counseling program aimed at developing students' socio-emotional skills. IST also offers a university counseling service that guides students in their subject choices, supports university applications, and provides opportunities to explore options both locally and abroad.

Afterschool activities and clubs are integral to IST's academic offerings, promoting learning beyond the classroom. Programs such as the IST Sports teams, music groups, Model United Nations (MUN), UNESCO projects, and Robomed are just a few examples.

IST is proud to provide its community with a high-quality international education, while also offering the unique opportunity to experience Italy's rich cultural heritage through its strong Italian programs and local connections.
