Boarding Facilities

The Boarding facilities for students aged 11 to 19 years cater to the needs of our 160 weekly boarders and 60 full boarders. There are two girls' Houses (Osprey and Kingfisher House) and two boys' Houses (Eagle and Ibis House). A programme of weekend activities is arranged for the boarders to fully embrace the wonderful environment of Brunei. Students are cared for by experienced staff, including their Boarding Housemaster or Housemistress and Matrons (qualified nurses).

Houses

All students and teachers in the School are members of a House (a community of about 70 students) which is designed to provide pastoral care, foster competition and promote camaraderie among the students. There are 16 Houses in the Senior School, all named after birds in Borneo, which are single-gendered. The brother and sister Houses collaborate for a range of events and social activities.

Each House has its own leadership team, including a House Captain and Deputy Captain, as well as other students in various unique leadership positions. House competitions take place weekly and include a variety of events such as sports, arts, talent shows, debates, spelling bees and quizzes.

Co-curricular Programme

Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) builds on an extensive co-curricular programme with almost 300 activities to choose from, including a wide range of sports and arts activities, Eco JIS - a student-led sustainability project, House competitions, the International Award (DoE) programme, the Ivy House Award and the Model United Nations club. The school takes full advantage of the wonderful environment of Brunei to provide students with unique and enriching experiences, helping them to be the very best that they can be.
