King's College School Soto de Viñuelas is recognised for its educational innovation, integrating advanced technology to enhance learning and academic excellence. In the summer of 2024, Mr. Chris Ramsey joined as the new Headmaster. With extensive experience at Whitgift School in South London, Chris brings a strong commitment to pedagogical innovation and a background in British education. A linguist with an MA from the University of Cambridge, his goal is to strengthen the school's educational vision within the Inspired community.
Located just 20 minutes from Madrid in a scenic 12-acre campus, King's College Soto de Viñuelas is a coeducational day and boarding school offering British education to children from 0 months to 18 years (Baby Education to Year 13).
The school is one of the few in Spain offering both A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes in English, allowing students to choose their path according to their interests and abilities. This flexibility ensures they can pursue their future aspirations.
Academically, the school excels in international programmes, ranking as the top school in Spain for the 2023/24 examination period. IB students average 36 points, surpassing the global average, and 48.5% of A Level students achieve elite grades (A* - A). This success enables our graduates to enter prestigious universities such as Harvard University, Durham University, University of Bath, University of Cambridge, Brown University, Rice University, IE University, and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, further strengthening the school's reputation for excellence.
With a forward-thinking approach, the school uses Inspired AI to personalise education by identifying each student's strengths and needs. The integration of virtual reality (VR) with MetaQuest 3 devices allows students to explore immersive experiences, such as World War II London or Victorian classrooms. These technologies, along with Chromebooks and Google Classroom from Year 6, prepare students for future technological challenges.
The boarding house, Tenbury House, provides some of the best accommodation in Europe. It houses 115 students from around the world. Temboury House has recently expanded by 1,180 m2, adding 25 double rooms, two apartments, and communal areas designed to support student wellbeing and development.
King's College Soto de Viñuelas has achieved the highest rating in all categories "Outstanding in Every Category" of the Penta International audit 2024, an inspection body accredited by the UK Government, ensuring its compliance with UK educational standards for schools abroad.
