Lab School Paris is an innovative, bilingual, supportive, secular and eco-responsible school. We welcome children from 1st to 12th grade in the acquisition of the French national education system's common core curriculum, with an emphasis on developing psychosocial skills such as creativity, critical thinking, empathy, etc., with the aim of enabling students to become responsible, enlightened, autonomous, supportive and fulfilled citizens.

The school's pedagogy is based on the principle of hybridization, creating a synthesis of different approaches. On the one hand, it draws inspiration from the pioneers of educational innovation such as Montessori, Freinet and Dewey, and on the other, from current research in educational science, psychology, sociology, neuroscience, philosophy and anthropology. In collaboration with the pedagogical council and Lab School Network researchers, the educational team takes into account studies that scientifically evaluate pedagogical practices, both from the point of view of academic success and well-being at school, and implements them with the children.

The IB at Lab School Paris

Our students benefit from a diverse learning environment and personalized attention thanks to our small class sizes. We offer the IB program as a continuation of our pedagogical approach, with a rich and rigorous curriculum while supporting students' socio-emotional development and fostering their independence. Classes are taught in English by bilingual French-English teachers. In addition, courses in French, English, and Spanish as language acquisition are offered, as well as literature courses in French and English.

We provide college counseling and application support to our students, with experts in IB Diploma pathways.

In addition to language subjects, our school offers a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, physics, biology, mathematics, music, and theory of knowledge. To broaden our students' horizons, we also offer courses in economics, business management, digital society, and philosophy, thanks to the IB-accredited online classroom system Pamoja.

A high percentage of our students achieve a bilingual diploma by successfully completing both French A and English A exams, demonstrating their high level of proficiency in both languages.

What sets us apart

  • We promote a more personal learning environment where each group of up to 15 students is supervised by one dedicated teacher.
  • All students actively participate in the democratic student council, where they put forward ideas to improve school life.
  • Students participate in a variety of artistic, musical, educational and civic projects, including ERASMUS programs, round tables organized by academics and researchers, and annual visits to UNESCO.
  • Students also take part in multi-age days, where they collaborate with primary and middle school pupils.
