Royal High School Bath, GDST is a leading independent day and boarding school. Part of the GDST family, RHSB provides outstanding, contemporary, education for girls aged 3-18. With a reputation as supportive and stimulating, our students realise new talents, fulfil their potential and go on to have bright futures. Our Steinway Music School and Art School highlight our commitment to our students' creativity.

Academic

Committed to high academic standards, Royal High School Bath offers a choice of A level or IB with a wide range of subjects delivered by specialist teachers. Staff are highly qualified and engage and inspire their students - with 16 years' experience of the Diploma Programme, the school's results are excellent, and consistently above the global average. In 2020 RHSB was recognised as a Top Global IB School and in 2023 students achieved an impressive average score of 35 points (higher than the global average). Students go on to study at prestigious universities in the UK and overseas, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and UCL.

Global perspective beyond the classroom

Students value the international-mindedness of the IB and enjoy a school exchange to Sweden. This gives experience of other young people from very different backgrounds and nationalities. Students choose from a wide range of CAS options and in previous years took part in an expedition to Cambodia where they taught in a partner school. Model United Nations enables students to refine skills including public speaking, critical thinking and leadership.

Orientation

The school's expertise means the induction of students is quick and effective. A residential orientation experience helps students gain an understanding of the programme ahead, and provides the space to plan their final years at school.

Boarding

Our global community of boarders find their home from home in RHSB. Girls aged 11-16 board in School House, our stunning neo-Gothic main building. Gloucester House is the Sixth Form boarding house and girls quickly settle into a caring and supportive community. House staff value students as individuals and the pastoral care and wellbeing of each girl is paramount.

Location

Situated in Bath, RHSB has good transport links. Just 15 minutes from M4 motorway and with easy access to London, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. Mainline rail links to London Paddington. Airports in Bristol, Southampton, Heathrow and Gatwick are easy to access and a shuttle to west London for weekly boarders can be arranged as required.
