Taipei Kuei Shan School is an IB Continuum World School located in the foothills of Yang Ming Mountain. It is fully accredited by the Taipei City Government Department of Education and a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.
Founded in 1963, we currently serve more than 600 students by blending educational excellence and an international perspective with Christian values. About 70% of our student body are Taiwan nationals and 30% are from 21 other countries.
Balanced Learners
Not only do students learn and grow at school but also beyond the school walls, engaging in a wide range of activities.
PYP (ages 4-11)
The PYP encourages students to learn to appreciate knowledge, conceptual understandings, skills and personal attributes as a connected whole. Kuei Shan emphasizes a "student first" learning approach led by teachers who are a "guide on the side", instead of a "sage on the stage", where senior students mentor younger ones.
MYP (ages 11-16)
The MYP is a five-year programme from Grades 6-10. Students sharpen their academic and self-management abilities through eight core subjects, situated in real-world contexts and culture. MYP students at Kuei Shan take two Language & Literature classes (English and Chinese). All students must conduct and complete a Personal Project in Grade 10, which is assessed internally and moderated externally.
DP (ages 16-18)
The DP is a two-year programme. Students choose subjects that align their own interests with the IB requirements and the school-offered subjects. Students take six total subjects with a combination of Standard Level and Higher Level courses. Our eight cohorts (2017-2024) earned Diploma mean grade and average total points above worldwide average. Students are currently attending four-year universities in various regions - Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, the U.K., and the U.S.
At Kuei Shan, we celebrate our distinctive place in PreK-12 education - where teaching, learning and faith guide the mind in understanding the complex diversity of God's creation, equip them to experience T.R.U.T.H., and prepare the whole person for service and leadership.
