Inspiring Changemakers Since 1931

The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) has led international education for over 90 years. Uniquely, we are the only school in Europe to offer an International Baccalaureate (IBDP and IBCP) and British (A-Levels and BTEC) curriculum.

Mission

We want our students to be happy, creative, and motivated. Our mission is to encourage high aspirations and challenge your child through a broad education that responds to global challenges.

Academic Excellence

Diverse perspectives, high-quality teaching, inspirational experiences and world-class facilities foster a lifelong love of learning. We're immensely proud of our academic outcomes, however, we believe that inspiration and intellectual curiosity are equally as important as exam results: this drives our philosophy alongside our desire to prepare students for a changing world. Our experienced staff are committed to this ethos, and we encourage them to use their passions to inspire our students.

Breadth of Experience

Clubs and enrichment activites are a significant part of student life at BSN. Across our four campuses, two Senior Schools (ages 12-18) and two Junior Schools (ages 3-11), we offer over 550 co-curricular activities across a wide array of interests - music, sport, art, languages, entrepreneurship, debating, environmental and sustainability to name only a few.

Welcoming and Supportive Community

Representing nearly 90 countries, our school's culture welcomes everyone and is a place where all students are known individually. We have great support structures in place to make the transition into our community easy for you and your family, from our active and engaged parent community, class tutors, Heads of Year and Health Care Team. Our specialist Additional Educational Needs (AEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) Departments work to ensure each student thrives at the BSN.

Higher Education and Beyond

By offering such a broad range of qualifications and experiences, our internationally ambitious students are able to study the subjects that interest them most and are given an unparalleled opportunity to prepare for higher education. Our Careers Department and Sixth Form Team are always on hand to give advice to your child when they're applying for courses and checking entry requirements.

We pride ourselves in our active Alumni network who guide and support our students during and after their time with the BSN.
