Congratulations to the class of 2020 Uplands IB Diploma students!

The International School of Penang (Uplands) students have, once again, exceeded global averages in this year’s IBDP examination results. This year's average score is 2.6 points higher than the global average, with 37% of students achieving 36 points or more.

The International School of Penang (Uplands) students achieved an average diploma score of 32.5 out of a possible 45, surpassing the global average of 29.9. More than 15 students achieved 37 points and above which is the level of attainment required to gain entry to the top universities in the world. These outstanding examination results continue to demonstrate Uplands’ continued commitment to providing world-class education and learning opportunities for all.

Emily Vallance, Head of Secondary said “Uplands students continue to achieve at the highest levels. I am incredibly proud of their accomplishments, particularly given the very challenging circumstances of this year's examination series. The IBDP is a rigorous pre-university qualification that develops the whole student and these results are only part of the holistic learning journey these students have been on and their plethora of achievements. These impressive outcomes are thanks to the combined efforts of our dedicated teachers and committed students."

- Average IB diploma points 32.5 points, 2.6 points higher than the global average of 29.9 points.

- 20 students achieving 36 points or more

- 92% pass rate at IB diploma level.
