Goldsmith’s Awards National Finals for Bromsgrove School students
Posted on 9th Dec 2021 in School NewsBromsgrove School students, Joelle Koh, Chantal Wong, Lucy McLoughlin and Toni Gavriiska, who partake in Bromsgrove Service, have recently attended the Goldsmiths’ Company Awards. They were nominated in the Community Engagement category for their work in the local community, and around the School. The projects from other organisations were equally outstanding, and the Bromsgrove team returned to School inspired with ideas from around the country. It was a fantastic achievement and experience for the students to be a part of.
Bromsgrove Service is ever growing in popularity, with a wide variety of activities, from hosting science clubs for Prep School pupils, to visiting local residential homes. In particular, Bromsgrove School has a partnership with the Basement Project, a charity that helps homeless young people in and around Bromsgrove.
Phoebe Woolley, head of Bromsgrove Service, quoted about the event; “The National Final of the Goldsmiths’ Award for Community Engagement featured the top eight schools from across the country who had made it through the regional round. Bromsgrove School was the only independent school to have made it to the final and we were thrilled to go to the fabulous Goldsmiths’ Hall in London to see the other community initiatives. Although we did not win, we returned to School inspired by the fantastic community work we witnessed and are looking forward to getting involved. The team absolutely loved their day and we are very proud of their performance.”
