At Taunton School, we have been offering the IB Diploma since becoming an IB World School in 2007. During that time over 300 students have obtained the diploma and its popularity continues to grow. IB students do consistently well at Taunton School, achieving high scores equivalent to 5 A-Levels and often obtaining places at their first-choice university, whether it's in the UK or overseas. Many students achieve top points and go on to study medicine at highly competitive universities.
In 2023, students achieved a 92% pass rate with an average of 32 points, exceeding the world average by almost two full points. Six students scored 38 or more points.
Aside from lessons, everything else is done with the rest of the Sixth Form, such as sport, drama, music, social events, houses and tutor groups.
